About our company:

qutools has been founded in 2005 by Prof. Dr. Christian Kurtsiefer, Prof. Dr. Harald Weinfurter and Henning Weier who has been working as CEO ever since. As all three founders have worked in the physics department of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, qutools can be viewed as its spin-off company. qutools is fully privately owned and financed.

We are developing, manufacturing and distributing quantum information products, including entangled photon sources, quantum random number generators, quantum cryptography systems and quantum optics components. Most of the products have been developed and/or tested in quantum information research labs of the university. It is our aim to continue developing new and improving existing tools for quantum information science, quantum metrology and quantum cryptography.

To protect its intellectual property, qutools holds one international patent and one international patent application.
